Why the crap have I not uploaded this? This is the most perfect, badass, bitchin', jawdropping photo ever.
This magic could not have happened without the brilliant photography of Ken Pearson, who is now my idol and I will bake him a cake for next time. And Overbeck will get one too. And so will Eric. Oh hell. Everyone gets a cake!
Costume details: This costume is 501st approved! Now if I had the time to actually go out trooping, I'd join. The top is made of stretch jersey in an off-white and grey. I ended up having to hand stitch in the grey to get the "ribbed" effect just right (the pleating board was not loving the jersey). The neck piece, gloves, belts, skirts, and pants are all made out of leather. The skirt is made of two parts, a front and back panel, secured together with a belt (this actually makes walking around much easier versus a full-length skirt). The bald cap was also made by me (to better fit my awkward head and hair) using rubber latex and a mold I made for myself a few years back. I fully admit to purchasing the lightsabers (there just wasn't any time to make these) but they are fantastic. They are from Ultrasabers.com. I know they are not 100% accurate to Ventress, but you know what? I think we can deal. The Force FX version of her sabers have been out of production for years and are impossible to come by. I do plan to modify the hilts for an attachment that will give the "curved" look. But really? This photo is too awesome. I think the sabers are just fine.
